Possible to buy only the electronics

Hi!

I'm currently in the planning of building a Plen 2 and I'm looking into the sourcing of the electronics. Will there be an option to buy the electronics without the servos from the Plen shop? Or if anybody could assist me with the Arduino and head boards. My soldering skills are not on par for that kind of work.

Thank you
.håkan

Re: Possible to buy only the electronics

Thank you, Guvalif :) I was thinking of going with MG90S servos since I saw that for the HackBerry project they were a suggested substitution for the ASV-15MG's. Any indication on the pricing for the control boards yet?

I am looking forward customization succeeds :)

The control boards were sold loose when we had been launched crowdfunding on kickstarter.
Please assume that the price will be larger a little than the old price.

I have a couple of spare MG90S's from another project. I will begin printing a few test parts and see how well they fit on the model.

Of course, I should have peeked at the Kickstarter. That'll work nicely with my budget.

Hi HSBallina. For what I know, the MG90S servo using 20 splines. The PLEN2 servo horns & servo brackets are 15 splines. You can check the official .stl parts.I think you can check the Emax ES08MD/MD II servo which is using 15 splines.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

True, I'll have to change affected pieces in SolidWorks and generate new STL files. Also the servos are slightly different in size so it's just one extra step :P
